Applying Styles

Paragraphs and headings are applied by placing your cursor in a word or block of text then selecting an option from the first item in the toolbar (Normal). Bold, Italic, ordered and unordered list and blockquotes (see below) are applied with the appropriate button in the toolbar. Custom styles (for images, blockquote citations, buttons, etc) are selected from the Styles menu. Styles are context-sensitive, so an appropriate option will only be available when the correct type of text is selected; image styles are only available if an image is selected and the Button style is only available if your cursor is placed in a created link. Note the small text on the left below the Body field. Clicking on a term here will select that element. This makes selecting some elements easier.

H2 heading style

The H2 above has been given an inline style of 'Mid Green'. Mid Green can be applied to a heading or a paragraph (below).

This paragraph has also been styled 'Mid Green'. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Inline Images

To add images into your Body field, you must first upload the images to the page, using the Images field (usually found directly below the Body field). These inserted images may be cropped; resized; aligned left, right or centre. There are also options to rotate and flip images.

When uploading and inserting an image, keep in mind that the typical column with is either 760 or 860px wide. If you double this for hi-resolutions screns, your uploaded images shouldn't be more than 2000px wide.

Built-in Image placement options

By default, ProcessWire allows you to insert images into any 'rich' text field. Once added to a page, use the Image button to insert an image wherever you place the text cursor in the Body field. The image above was inserted in the page without any modification. It is wider than the column width, so it gets scaled to fit. The image at left has been cropped, scaled to 350px wide and set to 'align left' (which makes it 'float' to the left of the text). Images may also be centered and aligned right.

If you wish to add a caption below an image, you have that option (see the checkbox when inserting and editing an image). When a caption is added, the CMS 'wraps' the image in a 'figure'. This is done in the background and appers as below.

In addition to the built-in styles, we have included additional styles to give you more flexibility over how your page is displayed. Note: these custom image styles are recommended for single-column layouts; they may not work well with pages with sidebar navigation. The image below has been given the style 'Photo 120' which makes changes it's width to 120% while staying centred.

The same image has been given the 'Full-width' style.
The two images below are positioned in a paragraph with the style 'Fit 2 Images'.
The two images below are positioned in a paragraph with the style 'Fit 3 Images'.

This is a Paragraph Caption style (sort of a 'faux caption' since we aren't using a figure)
